This is the latest in the spoilercasts, episodes where Ant and Tom talk in great detail about films they’ve seen at the cinema and are very excited about. This week’s film is the latest offering from Marvel/Disney, Ant-Man.

As usual (and as the title of the episode suggests), there will be massive amounts of spoiling in this episode. So, if you’ve not seen the film yet, and want to (you should have done by now!), it’s probably best that you go see the film first before listening.

You have been warned.

This week, Ant and Tom had a nightmare getting the podcast out on time… not that that will affect you if you’re listening in the future. But, they couldn’t conceive of you missing out on their voices for a whole week, so here we are!

This week, subjects discussed include robots passing a sentience test, will this lead to a Skynet-style apocalypse? While robots are proving themselves to be intelligent, Ants have been proved to fall under the spell of a strange secretion from a Japanese caterpillar that compels them to be its bodyguards.

Ant has a real life encounter at the leisure centre with a woman who gets all her medical knowledge from Facebook. Speaking of misinformed women; Josie Cunningham’s back in the news claiming that, because benefits are being cut in the UK, she’s had to go back on the game. Is there nothing this vapid bint won’t say to remain relevant?

The big news story of last week though was the shooting of Cecil the lion and the backlash against the hunter. Ant and Tom discuss the morals behind the story, but also hear from a US animal psychic who claims to have heard from Cecil. She has some interesting insights into how the lion feels about being shot and how we should be reacting…

Finally, we end with an email from a listener who has binged the last 30 or 40 episodes and has a lot to comment on. If you would like to join the debate, get in touch through one of the links below.

In this episode Ant is joined by Andrew from the Room 173 podcast to talk about A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket.

As always, there’s not much to include in these blog posts, except that there is a pretty big announcement at the start of the episode.

There have been a lot of things to catch up on this week’s episode. Firstly, lots of geek stuff that came out of Comic Con that Ant and Tom missed last week. Trailers for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Deadpool were also shown and the guys take some time talking about those as well as the behind the scenes footage from Star Wars VIII: The Force Awakens as well as how much Apocalypse from the forthcoming X-Men  movie looks like Ivan Ooze from Power Rangers!

Tom is requested, by a listener, to review Night of the Living Deadpool. So he does. Talk about fan service! Ant has found a story that gets to the bottom of the Loch Ness Monster myth, once and for all. Apparently.

Things take a turn for the annoying as an old-time favourite makes a return to the headlines. It’s Katie (Kuntie) Hopkins time again! This time she’s been taking the piss out of autistic children for being fat and annoying even though she has an autistic child herself.

She’s also been comparing migrants to cockroaches and willing boats to sink in the Mediterranean to further her career. We also learn that she is, in fact, a fictional character thanks to an inquisitive Guardian journalist who gets more than her bargained for in this interview.

Speaking of right-wing nutters, the Royal Family has been embroiled in the scandal of an 80-year-old film that shows her, as a child, doing the Nazi salute with her Mother ad Edward VII. However, take it with a grain of salt as The Sun may – just may – have twisted the truth on this one.

Ant and Tom are back after quite a few weeks of being pre-recorded, so there’s a lot to get through. Apologies go out to Andrew as his email was omitted from the last book club episode.

An e-mail from Ant’s Dad brings the only real news of the episode and it’s death related (Sorry Robert!). A man from the USA decided it would be a good idea to light a firework while holding it over his head. It didn’t end well.

Tom describes his diet and talks about giving up drinking as well as carbs and cola. The guys discuss drunkenness and how alcohol affects you physically and mentally.

The second half of the show is filled with film talk, Loz sent in a great e-mail about Jurassic World which may be posted on our social media soon. Lots of reviews this week including, Terminator Genisys,The Minions Movie and the first episode of Supergirl.

Also, the trailer for Suicide Squad has been leaked from Comic-Con and surprises Ant and Tom.

Anywhere But Here, Episode 128 – ABH Book Club: Night of The Living Dummy III

In this third episode of the Anywhere But Here Book Club Ant and Tom finish R. L. Stein’s trilogy of ‘Night of The Living Dummy’ books.

There’s a new, but all too familiar, dummy wreaking havoc on Trina, her brother Dan and their wimpish cousin Zane. Oh yeah, there’s also a attic full of ventriloquist dummies, but will our old friend Slappy return in this book?

It seems that R. L. Stein’s writing style has mature somewhat, or is that just a result of our strange, tired and slightly inebriated minds?

We are joined by Andrew (M3JCNV) Bartlett from several podcasts, including but not limited to; Two Loose Screws, Mating Habits of the Modern Geek, Alpha Counter and his very own podcast Room 173, to give us our reading for the next episode. Lemony Snicket’s – A Series of Unfortunate Events #1: The Bad Beginning

We look forward, as always, to your e-mails, tweets and Facebook messages to hear your opinions, views and reviews on anything we have talked about.

Anywhere But Here, Episode 127 – Life Patch & 90’s Nostalgia

This week, or many weeks ago – we aren’t sure when this will go out yet! – we got a great tweet from a guy called Dave (@willbrojnr36 on Twitter). It was a Metro article about how life was harder growing up in the 1990’s as opposed to now.

We got the best part of a show out of reminiscing about growing up in the 90’s. Topics include Pokemon, the Macarena, dial-up internet, not being able to save computer games, Dennis the Menace’s baby sister and much, much more.

Ant also poses the question, if life could be patched, like games can with DLC, what would you patch? Let us know on any of the contact details below.
